Having your resume ready in text only format

by fred 21. April 2009

Even though you should prepare your resume in Word format as it's the standard format, you should also have a version ready in text only format. It does indeed come handy, especially in the government field, as with online application forms such as resumix you will need to copy and paste your Federal resume.

When you're preparing your resume in text only format, start by stripping out any fancy formatting that was in your Word resume. Have everything set up in blocks of text but keep the content as is. Also make sure you prepared your resume in Word first to make sure the grammar and spelling are flawless.
