KSA Statements Don'ts

While these things can help you get a phone call, having certain items in your KSA statements will ruin your chances of getting an interview.

· Don't copy phrases directly from the position description.
· Don't list what others have done, or accomplishments of a previous company
. Don't lie or exaggerate your information.
· Don't be too modest.
· Don't leave out charity work that you do.
· Don't only mention the certifications you have. Give details.
· Don't include data they are not asking for.

Remember that your KSA statements are going to be used to decide whether or not you are qualified to do the job. Be sure you keep them focused on the vacancy you are applying to, and don't ever offer too much or too little info. By following these simple rules, you will increase your chances of getting a job interview.
