Veterans Get Bonus Points

by fred 27. July 2009
When preparing your Federal resume, do not forget to mention that you are a veteran, if it's the case, as thanks to the Veterans Preference, you will be eligible for bonus points, usually between  5 and 10. This is particularly important as, since applications are graded on a scale of 100, these bonus points can give you an edge over other candidates when several of them qualify for the same position. In addition to these points, Federal hiring managers usually prefer veterans to other candidates as they already served their country. So being a veteran is really a win-win situtation when it comes to applying to Federal jobs. And if you're a veteran and hadn't considered yet working for Uncle Sam, it might be a good idea to give it a shot.
